Magisch Maastricht: Decentralized Christmas Market
Earlier this December, Maastricht introduced the new Christmas market concept called Magisch Maastricht (previously Winterland Maastricht). One major change this year is the decentralization of the market stalls and attractions. Instead of having one big market at the Vrijthof (the city’s plaza square), there are now several markets spread out across the city (Vrijthof, Maas Boulevard, Market Square and Onze Lieve Vrouweplein, to name a few), turning the entire town center into a holiday attraction in itself.
Let it Snow: White Maastricht
Snow came early this year. This week’s temperature went as low as -10°C. Throw in a little breeze and it can easily feel like -20°C. Brrr. But on the bright side, just when you think Maastricht could not get any more charming, snow makes it look even more beautiful.
