Twenty Twelve

Generic as it may sound, 2011 really was a year of changes and milestones for me.
After giving up work to pursue graduate studies halfway around the world, I finally earned my Master’s degree in 2011, with a little feather in my cap to boot (but not without putting up a fight, which only made the ‘Cum Laude’ sweeter).
If there is one thing I learned in the year gone by, it is to not be contented with a conventional outcome, especially when it is a big, fat ‘no’. We should never allow dead-ends to rule our lives and learn to take advantage of the detours and the u-turns instead. This will continue to be my philosophy for 2012, especially now that I am treading an uncertain path, after having decided to embark on a ‘search year’ in the Netherlands to find a job I love.
Despite the struggles of being on a foreign land and the uncertainties of getting back into the working world, I will keep a positive outlook and bask in the experience. After all, some of the beautiful things in life happen when you least expect it and the sweetest moments come out of challenging scenarios.
So this year, I will continue to chase my dreams and I hope you would do the same with yours. I wish everyone a wonderful year ahead and let us make 2012 our best year yet.
Follow your bliss. - Joseph Campbell

Bonne chance :)
