Taking Part in 3 Day Startup Maastricht
About two weeks ago, I received an email confirming that I had been selected to participate in the Netherland’s first ever 3 Day Startup (3DS) event to be held in Maastricht from May 6 to 8. 3DS is an entrepreneurship education program that brings together 40 passionate students (and in some instances, professionals) who, over the course of three days, are challenged to build a start-up technology company. 3DS provides the top-notch mentors, workspace, food and drinks required for the intensive weekend.
The goal is to build enough momentum and a network of motivated people to sustain the company beyond the weekend. Alumni of 3DS events have founded numerous startups and have collectively raised more than $2M in investment. – 3DS Maastricht
Out of the 40 participants, half would be programmers, 7 would be from business, 3 from law, 3 graphic designers and 7 wild cards. With my communications background and varied interests, I applied for the wild card position and was fortunate enough to have passed the screening, which involved an online Q&A, submission of resume and an interview.
Founded in Austin, at the University of Texas, 3DS has since been adapted in various cities in the US and Europe, including Barcelona, Spain and Aachen, Germany. The 3DS event in Maastricht is hosted by the Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship in Maastricht University.
Talk about learning by doing!

What an amazing opportunity, Dan! I hope you will blog about what you learn! I’d love to share the information.
Also, do you have an RSS Feed for this site? I usually read most blogs that way, but I couldn’t find one.
Dear Kenna, thanks for dropping by. The 3DS event went extremely well and I will blog about it in a few days. As for the RSS Feed, thanks for the feedback, I have since installed a big icon at the top of my sidebar. ;)
